My passion to improve my health!

Update 2005    Seattle to Portland

As many of you will recall I posted a message in February 2004 about my Heart Disease Diagnoses of Atrial Fibrillation. I am fortunate that it is a "minor" condition, if there is such a thing. I have a condition in which the heart will beat in an erratic manner as well as being rapid.  The episodes come and go and so far I have not been able to isolate triggers.  As of July 2005 I am on a new medication that appears to be working well and keeping me in Normal Sinus Rhythm about 85% of the time - this is a big improvement.

The 2005 Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic is History and the big news is that I FINISHED!  It was a great event and I am looking forward to next year.  Also next year I am thinking about doing the Courage Classic, a 3-day, 172-mile ride that travels over Snoqualmie, Blewett and Stevens Passes. It is a fund raising event and if you would like to sponsor me for 2006 please let me know.

On October 2, 2004 I participated my my first Metric Century.  It was the Ellensburg Manastash Century Tour from Ellensburg, WA to Cle Ellum, WA and return.  It was a great experience and the weather was perfect.  Now on to the big one!  I am training for the  Cascade Bicycle Club STP (Seattle to Portland) in July. This is a 204 mile ride which can be done in either 1 or 2 days.  I am going to take 2 days for the event.
